Misconceptions about Visual Kei

Hello guys im here today. After being part of the visual kei scene for a few years now I’ve come across many misconceptions and stereotypes that ultimately aren’t true. In this following blog I will be covering the most common ones.

1:Visual Kei singers are gay

Obviously you know how this one started. A pretty man in a dress can’t be straight….. 😒

Wrong!

Obviously there are going to be gay visual kei Singers because  that’s natural. However just because a man tries to look pretty, doesn’t mean that he’s gay.  After all you shouldn’t just assume things like that.

2: visual kei is dark

This one isn’t so wrong because bands like jilluka and dir en grey are very dark. Both the lyrics and videos are go tos if you love Gothic elements.  However with bands like Alice nine and Lm.C you get much lighter happier lyrics and video.

Lm. C’s punky heart is definitely a cheerful happy song . I’ll link the video to that in the bottom ⬇

3: visual kei can only be rock music

This one is totally wrong.  There are many vkei bands singers and songs that aren’t just rock. They have many pop music elements and techno

Visual kei artists like Kaya and gackt sing a wife variety of styles. Pop techno darkwave trance jazz and rock.

Kayas songs hydrangea and taboo are perfect examples that I will link ⬇

4:All visual kei songs sound the same

This I’d probably the one I hate the most. None visual kei fans say that all visual kei sings sound the same and that artists rip each other off .

Obviously there are going to be similarities. This one girl pointed out to me that in The Gazette’s the invisible wall lead dinner ruki is wearing red leather gloves, and in Disreign’s within the void Yohio is wearing red leather gloves .

I hate that right when people listen to a new visual kei sing they feel the need to compare it to other songs and other band. They don’t take the time to appreciate the effort. It’s maddening. Please guys don’t be the person that does this.

5:Visual kei singers suck at singing English

This one is more if a joke but still one that people believe.  First you have to understand that some Japanese people pronounce English words with Japanese accents, so that makes it a little hard to understand.  However there are plenty sing where the English is perfectly understood.

Well guy I hope you enjoyed reading these strange misconceptions. I how you kerned something as well.

Don’t assume.

Don’t compare.

Orb -Matenrou opera Song review

So lately this song has inspired me quite a bit its feel is just very warm and inviting. I love Matenrou opera very much. I think their music is wonderful . Im sad about Anzi’s departure and i wish him well. Matenrou opera has announced that they will be continuing the band with the remaining members. That is very good news as i love their music.

The reason why im right bout this song is because i recently watched an AMAZING live performance of  Sono’s voice was amazing everything was extraordinary it got me thinking about the song and video and i fell in love with it even more.

Sadly i could not find an English translation of the song but that will not stop me from talking about how much i love this song

my favorite thing about the song is the music .I know that sound kind of cliche or whatever but the music is very calm and easy to listen you kind just want to throw your arms open and sway  while listening . Thats the way the music makes  you feel.

i love how in the video all of the lights  and than  when you see the theater form  the bands view . the look the members have are very cool as well its nice to see Sono with black hair ❤  and his red eyes are pretty cool as well . I love Ayame’s red hair and Yuu hair in her ponytail is pretty cool .

seriously  though i love Matenrou opera they make music that is both hardcore and melodic with very intense meaning and Sono’s  voice just magnifies the beauty in the songs.

More Matenrou opera songs to listen to: tengoku no aru basho, helios ( i wrote about this one) ,pandora, burning soul, innovational symphonia,

Scarlet Valse – Larme review

so i first listened to this song yesterday. OMG i have not stopped listening to it since it has literally been on repeat for like 24 hours now i need help this song is just too good and the video only makes it worse

So this band is called scarlet valse the lead singers name is kakeru  the band was started in 2011 the other members are: You ( guitar) Jun (guitar) takuya(bass) hiroki (drums).

give them a try i fell in love with this band when i heard there first song !!!

Sadly i could not find the lyrics for this song so i could translate them as well.

Thing i like about Scarlet Valse [Larme] :

the clarity : the video is so clear and clean the white background is flawless i dont why this caught my attention but it did.

The outfits: Especially Kakeru and takuyas. All of the outfits are so elaborate and so detailed its hard to miss this though.

Kakeru’s hair and makeup: oh my god kakeru is just perfection i mean just look at him

kakeru.jpg

❤ but his hair is just really cool he has my favorite hair in the band !!!

the music: its so emotional i cant even translate the song and i can already tell what its about its just so beautiful i  ❤ the piano intro its so soft and mellow and when it switches to guitar its not so harsh its subtle .

so yep thats all i can say about this song because im actually listening to it right now see you later i need to jam

The GazettE – Invisible wall

Ive known this song for as long as its been out  which is year. Im a big fan of the gazette this song is amazing probably their most popular.

The GazettE – The Invisible Wall:

ah this video is refreshingly simple sometimes flashing lights and wild camera movements just aren’t my thing . The simplicity of this video is satisfying.

So to be completely honest when I first heard this song I did not know that any of it was in English ( its okay to laugh). Ruki’s accent is so thick I couldnt tell until after I looked up the lyrics. its okay though because I after I looked up the lyrics I was stunned. They are perfect. I dont understand how they tie English and Japanese in so well together.

Its really good Great job The Gazette  ruki_the_invisible_wall_gif_6_by_beforeidecay1996-d4vh5j4.gif

Invisible wall lyrics:

Pig is that soaked in soup of crime
Is it a pain of the children whom you murdered, hate yourself.

In the maze without an end,
why do you still breathe?

Gareki no shita de shinjitsu ga notauchimawaru e wa,
Naniyorimo fukai (The invisible wall),

Kodoku zouo shitto fuan,
Kyomu ni saita muhyoujou naniyorimo omoi (The invisible wall)

Sanjou oou fujouri ni omoeta warau aozora

In the maze without an end,
ayamachi ni obore.
In the maze without an end,
why do you still breathe?

Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
In the bottom of the dark, dead sea,

Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Tsugunai tsuzuke and die.

Pig is that soaked in soup of crime.

In the maze without an end, hate yourself.
Ayamachi ni obore,
In the maze without an end, hate yourself,
why do you still breathe?

Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
In the bottom of the dark, dead sea,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Aijou mo shiranu kodoku na parade,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
In the bottom of the dark, dead sea
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Sorrow made you,
Tsugunai tsuzuke and die.

Sorrow made you

In the maze without an end…
Why do you still breathe?

Very great lyrics.

lastly I just want to say that I love a visual kei band video with two different styles ,and a switch of scenery . So this video really gets my attention. I love ruki’s hat and his leather gloves ❤ ❤

well guys
